Job Applications: Can you follow directions?

One of the ways to eliminate candidates who might not have all the skills that the employer desires, is to see the candidate's ability to follow directions. For instance when the employer asks the candidate to include the competition number on the subject line of the email application.

I am currently facilitating a workshop on applications and online applications and my first activity, the ice breaker, is a fun teaching tool used to show students the importance of following directions.

This is a very relevant activity to start this workshop as it demonstrates the importance of following directions when completing job applications.
