The Happiness of Now
Working with clients in transitional stages of their lives, I often see individuals bringing themselves down, reiterating the feelings of "I'm not good enough", "if I had ... I'd be happier".
I love Mark Manson's writing style of reality with a kick of fun, and he talks about "The Disease of More" Beautifully on this article.
Our society highlights the exceptions, the overachievers and it is easier to make ourselves smaller, believing that we can be happier if we improve material and financial aspects of our lives. The never ending journey for more is an obstacle to the NOW. Let's take this time to be #Grateful and to #enjoyNOW!
If you having a difficult time being grateful, try to list 5 things that happened in the past week that you really enjoyed.
Then, next time you wake up, set a goal of, at the end of the day, being able to list at least ONE thing you are grateful for, or that you enjoyed about that day.
Goal setting at the beginning of the day will support you in being present and will make it easier for you to identify you achievements of that day. Goal setting also promotes overcoming laziness and just really bring satisfaction to your awesome day!
